A collection of documentaries Following my two films on the Indian world, "Other Worlds", a documentary feature on the shamanism of the Shipibo Conibo Indians of Peruvian Amazon, and "Blueberry", a mystical western, I will persue my search into the ancestral traditions. The questionning on the nature of reality appears as the founding of each human being. Man can not grasp the absolute nature of things, the reality of men therefore appears as a creation, the fruit of their culture and perceptions. These films will have a common ground: making inroads into the universe of those who live or experiment realities different from those commonly accepted in our western world: wether they experiment them alone or in grups, or as the representatives of neglected traditions, mystics, seekers, philosophers, botanists, shamans or artists... The world of those who explore, conceive and experience another reality. This collection will include 26 or 52 minute documentaries. I will direct some of these films and as the director of the collection, I will also offer my artistic skills to the directors and writers of the projects to produce their films. Jan Kounen |
